Brrrrrrr

Nothing like dessert with Alex, Ken, Steve, Patricia and Judy. The coffee and spirits were not enough to warm us up, had to bring out the Reya towels for "wraps"!

New Kids on The Block

Meet Bill and Barbara from San Antonio, Texas.
These folks appeared in La Paz to check out a possible retirement location. Bill and Barbara were here for one, yes one week. We met them the day after they arrived and gave them a list of our favorite restaurants, they hit every single one! Also in that week they looked at houses (just to get an idea what was out there), BOUGHT a house, opened a bank account and attended a party! Let's see, did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, they had time to go shopping and buy us a gift! Thank you Bill and Barbara we can't wait to see more of you. We know you will make a great addition to our circle of very fine friends.

Asuncionians

When we arrived in Asuncion, other than our partners, we knew no one. Enter Jesus and Socorro who have lived there many years. Jesus said when he arrived in Asuncion all that was there were fleas and lots of wind. Jesus and Socorro went out of their way to welcome us and even invited us into their home for the most wonderful lunch of lobster burritos, fish albondiga soup and an abalone ceviche that was very good!

These are the type of people you meet that immediately become your family and you forget about the handshake and just have to hug!

Kallbrier's Come To Visit

In case you all are wondering what a typical visit is like at Casa Ana, here you go..........
okay so this might not be everyone's cup of tea but the four of us actually like the challenge of finding that "gem" that might have escaped the U.S. thrift stores and made it all the way to Mexico!
we force down the "required" shrimp and fish tacos................
we drink cold Pacificos on the beach..............
We take a good, long hike..............
Our guests get photographed with a sunset behind them.
If we are lucky our guests show up with a box of Sees Chocolates and a REALLY great bottle of wine! No pressure for those of you yet to visit!
and then you have to say goodbye. Some are sad to go and then there are those that are happy to go! We truly miss you guys already!
