This was the funniest thing that happened on our trip! Right after parking our car to see some of the beautiful Zion sights, this bus load of French Tourists started photographing our license plate! They seemed very excited about it! Hmmmmm.....

Home Again!

We made it!!! Here's Doug unloading all his crap, I'm sure there's more! All in all it was a great trip back to the Bay Area, thanks Doug and Carla for putting up with us! We would do it again!

The Folks

This just in from Dad and maria! They are well and hunkering down for the summer where the temps are so high you don't even want to stick your head out of the door in the daytime! Thank goodness for air conditioning!

Another Season

Well, it's time to head north again as the weather turns warmer day by day.
It has been a very busy season for us here. We had a great time with all the cruisers we were surrounded by: Doug and Carla, Marv and Ardy, Bill and Linda, Jamie and Behan (and crew), Dot and Brian, Janie and Cam and Jana and Richard, Glenn, Mark and Richard. Okay, I probably left someone out and I'm sorry.
Our second Ana-ual Flan party was a great success, lots of flan and Steve and Kay brought some killer chili. We enjoyed a couple of Brian and Fern's parties as well as Wiley and Carol's. We attended our first "Dia De Los Reyes" party at Judy and Alex's followed by the wonderful "Tamale Fest" at Roz and George's, attended my first "granny" shower which was very memorable because that afternoon I fell from my bike and broke my wrist! By the way, it was a girl, Kelsey!
Oh yeah, Mike and Jeanette talked us into buying a little place in Bahia Asuncion which we are really looking forward to using.
I cannot believe we've been in La Paz eight months. We are headed to the boat where there is already a 4th of July party in the works. We expect our friends Brian and Fern to join us for the party. Later in July Mike and Jeanette will spend a few days with us and then at some point Judy and Alex! Isn't that great? We get to keep seeing our La Paz buddies!
Hasta Luego

Brrrrrrr

Nothing like dessert with Alex, Ken, Steve, Patricia and Judy. The coffee and spirits were not enough to warm us up, had to bring out the Reya towels for "wraps"!

New Kids on The Block

Meet Bill and Barbara from San Antonio, Texas.
These folks appeared in La Paz to check out a possible retirement location. Bill and Barbara were here for one, yes one week. We met them the day after they arrived and gave them a list of our favorite restaurants, they hit every single one! Also in that week they looked at houses (just to get an idea what was out there), BOUGHT a house, opened a bank account and attended a party! Let's see, did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, they had time to go shopping and buy us a gift! Thank you Bill and Barbara we can't wait to see more of you. We know you will make a great addition to our circle of very fine friends.

Asuncionians

When we arrived in Asuncion, other than our partners, we knew no one. Enter Jesus and Socorro who have lived there many years. Jesus said when he arrived in Asuncion all that was there were fleas and lots of wind. Jesus and Socorro went out of their way to welcome us and even invited us into their home for the most wonderful lunch of lobster burritos, fish albondiga soup and an abalone ceviche that was very good!

These are the type of people you meet that immediately become your family and you forget about the handshake and just have to hug!

Kallbrier's Come To Visit

In case you all are wondering what a typical visit is like at Casa Ana, here you go..........
okay so this might not be everyone's cup of tea but the four of us actually like the challenge of finding that "gem" that might have escaped the U.S. thrift stores and made it all the way to Mexico!
we force down the "required" shrimp and fish tacos................
we drink cold Pacificos on the beach..............
We take a good, long hike..............
Our guests get photographed with a sunset behind them.
If we are lucky our guests show up with a box of Sees Chocolates and a REALLY great bottle of wine! No pressure for those of you yet to visit!
and then you have to say goodbye. Some are sad to go and then there are those that are happy to go! We truly miss you guys already!
