Let The Fun Begin!

Kim and Mike arrived in La Paz four days ago and it has been go, go, go! This fish was on Mike's plate and as you can see, he was the only guy not smiling!

We have had the usual eating, drinking and lots of card playing!

Blowholes

There are very cool blowholes up and down the coast, this one just a short walk from Casa Amigos.

Arches

You don't have to walk very far to see beautiful arches made by pounding surf.

This is one of the most incredible sights we have seen! This is called "white beach" because of the shells that stretch for as far as the eye can see. Big surfing competitions are held at this beach each year. I dug down about a foot with my hand and never did touch sand!

Here is the "More" I promised on Bahia Asuncion

Timeline: March 5: Mike and Jeanette approach us about partnering with them on a property they had just seen in Bahia Asuncion, a small town of about 1000 people. Asuncion is known for Lobster, Abalone, Jurel (yellow tail) and Caracol (snail). March 27: We put in an offer and it was accepted. Mind you, Steve and I had not yet seen this town let alone the house. March 31: Off we head to visit Asuncion and see what we had gotten ourselves into this time. We could not help but fall in love with this town, it's laid back kind of pace, smiley faces and overall generous and giving people that we seemed to be surrounded by. April 22: Done deal, papers signed. House, and two beds, all ours!

This is the front of the house, I know, I know, it looks pink but we really do like to refer to it as "rose". The house is a two bedroom, one bath, living/dining area and kitchen. We have all agreed to call the house "Casa de Amigos".

This would be the view of the back of the house and the lovely view just beyond that we see from our front window or in the morning when we sit outside on the porch drinking our morning coffee and contemplating our day.

Here we are with the seller, Armando, who is a very nice and well respected individual in town. We have nothing but good to say of this man who owns the local motel, and whose family own and operate two of the four restaurants in town!

So, on the 22nd of April, my dad's 87th birthday, I signed the papers making this house in Asuncion "ours". Advantage of Mexican citizenship is "ownership" and no lifelong fees other than property taxes which we would expect to be under $60.00 U.S. dollars. To celebrate our venture, when we arrived in Asuncion after the signing, Mike and Jeanette awaited us with locally caught lobster, a wonderful lettuce, pear and feta salad, and fried potatoes, yum! We threw in a bottle of wine and toasted to our new place! Thanks Mike and Jeanette for everything!
